RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote all CPS safety programs while continually expressing and enforcing CPS’s commitment to safety. This is evidenced by:
  • Stopping any work in which a safety hazard has been identified until all affected parties are made aware of the possible hazard and all reasonable measures have been taken to mitigate the hazard.
  • Keeping current with CPS’s required safety training courses.
  • Maintaining a safe driving record and avoiding any at-fault or preventable accidents.
  • Performs all duties in a safe manner that is consistent with company polices and procedures.
  • Maintains all equipment as prescribed, including operating maintenance and appearance.
  • Reads and develops an understanding for all applicable company polices and procedures, as well as all applicable company communications.
  • Performs assigned duties related to the maintenance of the company's facilities and grounds.
  • Reports for work as assigned, in a timely manner, in a physical and mental condition that will enable the worker to perform the duties assigned in a safe and effective manner.
  • Complies with and participates in the enforcement of all established company polices and procedures, including those related to a drug and alcohol free workplace.
  • Completes all assigned documentation and/or "paperwork" in a manner prescribed and in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain a work environment that encourages open and free communication and participation from all employees. This is evidenced by adhering to RPC’s Code of Business Conduct.
  • Interacts with fellow workers, superiors, and others encountered in the workplace in a manner that promotes a positive image of the company and which promotes a "team spirit".
  • Holds confidential all information regarding the company's trade secrets, marketing strategies, pricing structure, compensation practices, and financial information which has been learned.
  • Maintains a driving record with respect to accidents and motor vehicle driving violations that is consistent with company policy and which complies with the standards established by the company's insurance carrier for coverage (The exclusion of a particular employee from vehicle insurance coverage by the company's insurance carrier will be deemed
  • to be a situation that is contrary to this provision.)
    Is responsive to and complies with instructions as issued by management or its designees.
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of the oil field "jobs" contracted for by the company. Interacts with the customer and others at the job site, in a manner that is effective and which promotes a positive image for the company.
  • Performs various mathematical calculations as required in oil field stimulation operations.
  • Performs and Oversees Job Quality testing in the lab and at the job site, operates design and monitoring software at the facility and on the job site, and prepares job proposals and designs as required.
  • Assist the District Engineer and/or District Manager in day-to-day operations of the district and provides technical sales support to the district staff.

 

Job Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in a manner that enables the employee to communicate effectively and safely in the workplace.
  • The Field Engineer should have a 4 year degree in a technical / applied science field. Candidates with an Associates degree or appropriate experience may be considered for this position based on background and prior experience.
  • Work experience: The Field Engineer will undergo both field and extensive classroom training and gain their work experience through on-the-job training while at CPS.
  • Physical capabilities: Must be able to climb ladders/stairways to work on service equipment.
  • Environment: The Field Engineer works in varied environments (office/plants/field) and geographical areas and for safety reasons must have the ability to apply and use various required physical skills, including all the senses, for safe and successful performance of this job.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License. Must possess a driving record that meets the company's policies which are based on the insurance carrier's requirements for coverage.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and to work with a minimum of direct supervision.
  • Computer Capability: Must be able to use a personal computer. Must know how to use the following Microsoft software:
  • Word – word processing
  • Excel – spreadsheet
  • PowerPoint – presentation
  • Must be familiar with and able to use engineering software in use at the service center. Software may include but is not limited to:
  • MFrac – design, monitoring and analysis
  • Fracpro PT – design, monitoring and analysis
  • Gohfer – design, monitoring and analysis
  • Saphir – pressure analysis
  • FracLink – data acquisition and display
  • Winfrac - data acquisition
  • Smarts – data display
  • Must be familiar with other service and product lines and interact with other service and product lines as required.
  • Must be familiar with and capable of interpreting well data required for treatment designs including geology, open hole and cased hole logs, cores, pressure buildup, production history etc.


WORK CONDITIONS

  • Environment: The Field Engineer works in varied environments and, sometimes, in what may be considered harsh environments. Exposure to extreme temperatures, wind, precipitation, in addition to working at heights may be experienced when working in field or plant locations.
  • Availability: The Field Engineer must be able to support internal and external customers in the oilfield. Many of these customers work seven days per week and well past “normal” business hours. CPS engineers are equipped with cell phones, portable computers, and Internet access to allow them to serve their customers whenever the need arises.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

  • The Field Engineer may have supervisory responsibilities as assigned by the District Manager or his designee.
