Job Description

To design and supervise various phases of unconventional gas well completions.

  • Carries out completion design assignments on a well-by-well basis.
  • Supervises hydraulic fracturing operations on given well assignments.
  • Supervises cementing of production casing strings on given well assignments
  • Communicates effectively with and works cooperatively with field supervisory personnel on all phases of the completion process.
  • Actively participates in prospect team meetings.
  • Promotes and models safe and environmentally sound practices on location when in the field.
  • Assists AFE process by contacting vendors and soliciting pricing for goods and services.
  • Proactively seeks to become more knowledgeable through training, reading, and networking around the industry.
  • Reviews invoices related to assigned wells for accuracy and correctness.
  • Follows up regularly with production personnel regarding production outcome and stimulation effectiveness of assigned well completions.
  • Presents completion proposals and results to management or others as directed.

 

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Experience, Competencies and Supervision:
Minimum seven years industry experience.

Education and Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, or other appropriate engineering discipline.
Experience with well fracture design software (Mfrac, FracPro, Feket).

Experience:
Working knowledge of well construction including geology, drilling, completion, production, and reservoir engineering. Understands the first order parameters in hydraulic fracturing.

Competencies:
Demonstrated skills in completion engineering techniques and practices of the field. Through understanding of commercial and business aspects of oil and gas industry. Excellent written and oral communication skills, self motivated, self-starter, and sense of urgency. Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines. Ability to deviate from established procedures when special problems or opportunities arise. High degree of initiative and independent judgment. Excellent computer skills. Ability to travel to various work site locations, meetings and training seminars. May require availability for overtime hours during peak periods.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with manual dexterity to lift, bend and jump. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is usually loud.
