Job Description
Conduct scientific and economic evaluations of current and prospective reservoirs for potential operations and budget/forecast/reserve impacts to increase company value and reach organizational goals.
- Perform regional and localized scientific technical evaluation of reservoirs including:
Core analysis
Open hole and cased hole log analysis
Bottom hole pressure build up analysis
Production analysis
Injection and fall-off test analysis
OGIP calculations
Type curve generation
Well Spacing/Density evaluations
Well performance and permeability analysis
Simple and complex reservoir modeling - Maintain well reserves database through decline curve analysis and other methods using appropriate software tools and justification from technical evaluations.
- Prepare AFEs and run economics including sensitivities to various assumptions.
- Work with other disciplines to further the technical and economic evaluations. Includes justification of identified drilling locations through subsurface analysis, cost estimates, gathering and marketing fees, land ownership information, etc.
- Assist in preparation of budgets and forecasts for near and long term business and development plans including scheduling anticipated capital costs and forecasting production.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
- Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.
Job Requirements
Knowledge, Experience, Competencies and Supervision:
Describe the education, knowledge required, years of experience, specific skills and abilities required to do the job on a fully competent basis.
Education and Knowledge:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, or Chemical preferred)
Experience:
Previous experience working in unconventional reservoir.
Previous experience with Aries system or related training.
Competencies:
Previous experience working in unconventional reservoir.
Previous experience with Aries system or related training.
Developed knowledge of oil and gas production and what affects the performance of the wells. Ability to prioritize multiple projects. Strong analytical and problem solving abilities. Ability to work in a team environment with professionals from other disciplines. High degree of initiative. Strong attention to detail; ability to perform duties with a high level of accuracy. Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines. Strong personal computer skills. Strong oral and written communication skills.
