Longroad Energy has announced the financial close and sale of a planned solar project in Alabama, Kallanish Energy reports.
The buyer is Denmark-based Orsted.
The sale price of the 294-megawatt direct current facility in Colbert County, Alabama, was not disclosed.
The Muscle Shoals Solar is the largest renewable energy project in Alabama.
It is expected to come online in mid-2021.
Longroad Energy, based in Boston, Massachusetts, will manage the construction.
The project is expected to employ about 300 workers at peak.
The solar facility has a 20-year power purchase agreement with the Tennessee Valley Authority the nation’s largest public utility.
Wells Fargo is the sole tax equity investor in the project.
