Brazilian state-run oil company Petrobras announced on Wednesday a new monthly production record in its pre-salt Buzios field, Kallanish Energy reports.
The offshore oil and gas field, located in the Santos Basin, registered productions of 615,000 barrels per day of (Bpd) and 765,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (Boe/d).
Petrobras said Buzios is the largest deepwater oilfield in the world, featuring substantial reserves, low-risk and low-cost production.
The field is currently the second-largest producing oil and gas field in Brazil, following behind only the Lula field. In June, the four platforms installed in the Buzios field produced 1.29 million barrels of oil equivalent per day – of which 1.01 Mmbpd were oil and 44.45 million cubic meters per day (Mmcm/d) of natural gas, according to oil regulator ANP.
