[Editor’s Note: The American Pipeline Contractors Association wants clean, affordable, and reliable energy for New York and common sense at its Climate Action Council.]
In 2019, lawmakers in New York authorized the Climate Action Council to develop a plan to help the state reach its climate goals. With the publishing of this plan and its proposed ban on natural gas, it’s clear that they haven’t taken into account the everyday lives of upstate New Yorkers.
The American Pipeline Contractors Association, a national association for those building America’s energy infrastructure, urges New Yorkers and anyone affected by this to submit a comment to the Climate Action Council by the deadline of June 10th.
Natural gas has been and will continue to be a safe, affordable, low-carbon energy source. This potential ban has far-reaching consequences beyond just the pipeline industry and will severely impact the economy of New York.

Editor’s Note: The American Pipeline Contractors Association mission is stated as as follows:
Serving as a national association of merit shop pipeline and station contractors, APCA was founded in 1971 as a regional alliance to promote the mutual interests and address industry concerns of its members and associates.
The scope of services range from security issues to providing key industry information and assistance, such as:
-
- Continuing education on labor and employment issues and regular updates provided by a leading law firm specializing in the pipeline industry.
- Continuing education on important, strategic laws and regulations governing the pipeline industry.
- Continuing education on safety, environmental, quality, drug and alcohol issues.
- Communicating ideas through newsletters and meetings (including an annual convention); all of which serve as a forum for discussion of concerns and implementation of projects for the Association.
APCA continues its quest to support its members in their efforts to secure a fair operating environment in the pipeline industry. The association is proud of its accomplishments and welcomes new members who share our common goals.
