Small Businesses Workshops in the Bakken and Niobrara Shale Areas: Learning from the Marcellus and Utica Shale Plays
The Pennsylvania Small Business Development Centers (SBDC), located in the Marcellus and Utica Shale Plays, have teamed up with their counterparts in Colorado, North Dakota, and Montana to host a series of workshops in May for small business owners on shale energy supply chain opportunities in the Niobrara and Bakken Shale areas. The workshops will also focus on business resiliency and weathering the boom/bust industry cycles. The no-cost events are targeted to companies currently working or those looking to find opportunities in the shale energy sector.
Since 2009, the Pennsylvania SBDC has been providing services to small business owners across Pennsylvania working in the Marcellus and Utica Shale regions. Many small businesses, regardless of proximity to a primary drilling location, have been able to take advantage of supply chain opportunities to grow their business.
The upcoming workshops will provide attendees with an overview of the shale energy industry, and discuss current trends and statistics, while also reviewing smart steps to business sustainability. Each session will also feature a panel discussion with local and national experts in the field.
Admission to all of the Shale Energy Supply Chain seminars is free of charge, but pre-registration is required. Visit www.pasbdc.org/shaleevents to register.
