Natural Gas – 100 Years Ago Today, April 29, 1922!

Natural gas news from a hundred years ago offers great perspective for discussing one of the cleanest sources of energy available then and still today.
I thought it might be fun and illuminating to look back 100 years ago at what was happening with natural gas. It is eye opening, given all we’ve learned over the last century and, of course, there is little new under the sun. Consider these 100-year old news items (emphasis added):
- That’s $23-29 Per 1,000 Cubic Feet in 2022 Dollars! !

The business promotion of natural gas, such as illustrated below, is what is still needed today as well. All true! Yes, you can do it better with gas! Let’s proclaim it, loudly!
Natural Gas: What Can’t It Do?
Yes, natural gas even makes a better cup of coffee and they knew that a century ago!
More importantly, notice it says “dry natural gas” the kind found in the Marcellus Shale of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Talk about marketing opportunities!
