Partners Tri Global Energy and Denmark-based Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners have started commercial operations at a 162-megawatt wind project in West Texas, Kallanish Energy reports.
The Bearkat II project is located in Glasscock County near Midland, Texas.
Bearkat I with 197 megawatts of production capacity commenced operations in 2017.
Tri Global with headquarters in Dallas, Texas, originated the Bearkat wind project on 30,000 leased acres of privately owned farm and ranch land in 2012.
CIP acquired the Bearkat project in 2016.
“We congratulate the team at CIP on completing funding on the second phase of the Bearkat wind project and achieving commercial operation which helps Texas remain the No. 1 wind producing state in the nation,” said Tri Global Energy chairman John Billingsley in a statement.
CIP and Tri Global Energy have successfully partnered on the 148-megawatt Blue Cloud wind project in Texas and the 400-megawatt Panther Grove wind project in Illinois.
Tri Global has 4,000 megawatts of renewable energy projects in operation or development.
CIP has investments in utility-scale renewable projects in North America, Western Europe and Asia Pacific.
