Polish state oil and natural gas company, PGNiG, will supply Norweigan gas to Aker BP, under a contract starting this month, Kallanish Energy reports.

The volume and length of supplies were not disclosed by PGNiG, which announced the deal last week. Gas will be supplied by PGNiG Supply & Trading (PST) from the group’s fields on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

“In the future, the contracted raw material may be imported to the Polish market, and from there also to other countries of Central and Eastern Europe, using the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline, PGNiG said in a statement.

PGNiG and Aker BP are partners in the Skarv field complex in the Norwegian Sea.

“In the coming years, PST plans to significantly increase its activity on the Norwegian market. The agreement with Aker BP is an important step on the way for PST to build a portfolio of contracts with partners operating in this region,” the Polish firm added.
