Kessel Construction, Inc. – Shale Gas Services
The Marcellus and Utica Shale plays are bringing about a lot of new and unique business opportunities for the Natural Gas Exploration, Production, Transmission and related service providers involved in this dynamic industry.
One key component of the Midstream is the compression of natural gas and related systems. Kessel Construction has teamed with some of the industries’ best service providers to offer a turnkey compressor station that includes:
*Concrete foundations & floors
*Pre-engineered building system
We will take the project from initial phases of design and permitting to tying into a pipeline.
The design phase of the station can include site development all the way through handing the station over to the customer. All design parameters, stamped drawings, and permitting are completed through this phase of the project.
The site development can include items such as surveying, elevation determination, site clearing and grubbing, roadways, compressor pads, seeding, fencing, and underground utilities.
The concrete portion of the project encompasses compressor blocks, foundation walls and piers, concrete floors, exterior door pads, compressor grouting, pipe bollards, pipe supports, and various yard pads and foundations.
The pre-engineered Butler building system will work in conjunction with the cooler openings, ventilation system, and access requirements. It will be constructed based on the requirements of the sound attenuation study and includes all sound mitigating materials. It may also include a full length crane system to service the compressors. The roof will be designed to allow easy removal of key sections to access the compressor from above.
The sound proofing of facility will be a “guaranteed” solution based on the Owner’s specified decibel level at the location relative to the compressor site (property line of the compressor station or nearest sensor site etc.). All sound attenuation equipment will be included as well.
The electrical system includes lighting, grounding, receptacles, service entrance, transformers, equipment hookup, and duct banks etc. for a complete operable system.
The mechanical portion of the project will handle setting the compressors, interior piping and hookup, yard piping, and tying into the pipeline. Certified welders will complete all work and the work will be x-rayed and/or pressure tested as required.
