The Material Handler responsibilities include the following:
Receiving:
- Accurate verification of incoming materials against vendor packing lists, purchase orders, and bills of lading to ensure material received is correct.
- Reject damaged goods or material and correspond with Purchasing to adjust for damages or shortages.
- Report nonconforming material to the Quality Assurance Manager.
- Maintain thorough and specific records indicating date, quantity and source of materials received.
- Receive material and goods into storeroom and correctly update computer information system.
- Process manufacturing jobs upon receipt of manufactured materials from the machine shop or outside vendors.
- Mark or tag articles as required in documented procedures for proper identification.
- Store materials in assigned locations in stockroom.
- Promptly fill job picklists and correctly complete all required material transactions
- Ensure stock is replenished in designated areas.
- Perform cycle counts.
- Careful consideration and correctness of all processes is essential in maintaining an accurate inventory.
- Maintain standards for the orderly storage of materials and good housekeeping practices
- Other tasks deemed necessary by Management
Logistics:
- Ensure stock is replenished in designated areas.
- Control the Supermarket panels and hand out paperwork as necessary.
- Load production carts with orders as they become ready.
- Identify inadequacies in operations procedures or parts shortages when applicable, and report them to the Supervisor.
- Report discrepancies related with the shop production order or drawings when applicable to the Supervisor.
- Maintain standards for the orderly storage of materials and good housekeeping practices
- Other tasks deemed necessary by Management
Any other tasks deemed necessary by Management.
Responsibilities may require: lifting up to 50 lbs., standing for extended periods of time, walking, reaching, and repetitive motion.
