Nigeria commences works at AKK gas pipeline

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has launched construction works on NNPC’s $2.59 billion natural gas pipeline, Kallanish Energy reports. Once complete, the 614-kilometer Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline project will transport 2.2 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) of gas to the domestic market.

Nigeria’s Oando announces onshore discovery

Nigerian energy firm Oando announced Wednesday a “significant” gas and condensate discovery onshore Niger Delta, Kallanish Energy reports. The Obiafu-41 Deep Well reached a depth of 14,350 feet encountering an accumulation of 426 feet of high-quality hydrocarbon-bearing sands.
